Olympic Torch Relay at Osborne House

Today the Olympic Torch Relay came to the Isle of Wight, travelling from Yarmouth via The Needles, Newport and to East Cowes where it was taken on board the ferry heading to Southampton.On the final leg to the ferry the torchbearer was yachtswoman Dame Ellen Macarthur.

This picture shows Torchbearer Francesca Barnes who carried the flame through the Queens Gate at Osborne House and was clearly having the time of her life. Huge crowds turned out throughout the island and here at least the rain held off.

It was a great occasion and one I will remember for a long time to come.
