Love Snowdrops

After the lunchtime concert* we came home through the park to look for frogs, in the area that used to be a pond. Either it is too early or they have finally given up attempting to breed on a patch of mud, and who shall blame them.

The south-facing bank is showing its usual variety of flowers - I liked the shape of this clump of Snowdrops (though there is a sweep of them further along), the winter Aconites are almost over but a single Primrose flower is open already, and a surprising couple of Primulas. These are all garden escapes. The Ramsons is also growing fast and will soon be ready to harvest for the kitchen.

*The concert, the last this season by the Edinburgh Quartet, was Adagio from String Quartet Op 11 by Samuel Barber and Quartet No 1 in F minor Op 16 by Hans Gal, well attended and most enjoyable.
