My first activity was pruning the roses, the apple tree (yes, the one that gave such a bountiful harvest), the berry bush and the butterfly bush. Because the branches can't be put in the compost heap, I had to cut them all to one meter in length, to be put on my woodpile. Suddenly the garden looks much better. Refreshed. There is still a lot to do, but by experience I know it's way to early to do it all at the first signs of spring.
