Bearings

It was another bit of day.  In at 7 and it started straight away, phone calls, E-Mails and even a visitor.

That took care of the first half of the morning.

Second half was our team's first appearance at our new department meeting. "It won't be boring" said our department head as he stood at the front of the meeting and read out the PowerPoint slides that appeared on the giant screen.

I'm pretty sure everyone in that room could have read the slides.

But who knows, maybe that IS what passes for fun in our new department.  I can't wait to find out.

And as we were the new team in the department, we were all called forward and made to stand in front of the Assembly.  That was ever so slightly embarassing, as half our team wasn't there.

We were all given these compasses "to help us find our way to our team's goals."

Righty-o then.

And this afternoon it was my turn to show a new trainee what we actually do in our team.

4 hours is quite a long time to spend talking.  And it was 99% in German.  I was knackered at the end of that and our poor trainee looked ever so slightly overwhelmed.  She wasn't crying though, so I think it went OK. (I know how tough these things can be to sit through, so I made sure we had Ginger Nuts to keep us going and we made regular breaks for a couple of minutes).
