House Hunting Chickadee

Recently, I put out a bird house for bluebirds and each day I have had to evict the sparrows.  I sent away for a “sparrow shield” and put it up today.  It is a halo device that sits above the house and has hanging filaments.  Apparently sparrows don’t like filament.  I have seen no more sparrow activity, and now the Carolina Chickadees are checking out the real estate.  I saw bluebirds 5 days in a row, but haven’t seen any in 3 days so the chickadees may be the new owners.
