Troglodytes troglodytes

Despite being the most common breeding bird in England the wren is surprisingly elusive.  It creeps around looking for insects and spiders and flits around so quickly it is difficult to capture.  I saw a pair today but since the males are polygamous I expect others were around too.  More information  http://blogs.scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/fallsofclyde/2013/06/30/10-facts-about-wrens/
