Congested

It's often claimed (by people who don't like looking for facts) that congestion on the roads is caused by, amongst many other things, low speed limits (viz. arguments ongoing about 20mph limits); road narrowings; bus lanes; bike lanes (viz. Roseburn in Edinburgh); one-way streets; speed bumps; speed cameras; anti-car councils (if only that were actually true, these folk need to study Copenhagen, which actually declared publicly that, yes, they were anti-car). Basically everything other than, well, a lot of cars.

Here's Edinburgh bypass. a 50mph limit, moving up to 70 just behind me, no bikes allowed, two lanes all the way, few (any?) buses, and.... Complete chaos at 'rush' hour. But yeah, it's not cars and driving that causes tailbacks. No. Course not.
