Red dawn

Regardless of when I go to bed, I seem to waken up as it gets light - today at 6.15am. Yesterday the pre-sunrise sky was golden and pale blue; today the only light in the sky was this intense red glow. 

Shepherd's warning? I guess so: though it was still dry while I was taking this, by the time I actually got up for good it was raining and has been raining ever since - a good 15 hours at least. 

And apparently this will go on for another 24 hours. Joy.
