No room in the cut

Friday - our day to pick up Fiona.  Today Tatum came over with her…but not to worry - no blow by blow this time (altho I’m just as exhausted as last week….  there’s one extra from the after dinner Weekly Friday magic show)
which will have more opportunities for blipping :-)


The blip is the Montlake cut and Bridge , connecting Portage Bay and Lake Washington where we rowed this morning and a view I don't see that often..  We try to go out around 9:00 because in the past there are very few boats (last friday we did not see one single motor boat! and it's too late for most younger rowers)).  Not the case today.   A good rule is “don’t row right in front of a barge”… This spud barge pushed by one little tug was coming for us as we were returning back thru the cut and we decided to take the conservative approach and let it go first.  :-)  Well, we were sorry we did that as we could have beat it to the bridge and they had to wait an extraordinarily  long time for that bridge to go up for it to pass under.   Oh well, I got the picture with the iPhone….and the boat coming this way didn’t help….   We are inching ever so slowly to making a decision about what to do about this rowing club…
