Spokes Ride to Eddleston

Another cold day for the Spokes Ride. We went to Eddleston in the Scottish Borders for the lunch stop. The morning ride was cold, but we had sunshine and blue skies. The route out was very direct, so had quite a bit of climbing, first up to Fairmilehead, and then from Penicuik to Leadburn.

After lunch, we headed back north, then east. At the top of the switchbacks, we stopped to regroup before heading past Gladhouse Reservoir to Middleton. The blue sky had gone, and mist seemed to be heading in from the NW. We had great views of Arthur's Seat and the Pentlands.

From Middleton, we followed back roads to Outerston. From here though Carrington and Roslin Glen, there were occasional flurries of snow and by the time we reached Hillend, it started snowing in earnest.

At Fairmilehead, we said goodbye and we all headed home. 76km in all. A cracking ride.

Haven't put SSD drive in new laptop yet, but I'm working on it.
