The Pines

I spent some time with my dad today. He's a bit eccentric and not always easy company but often entertaining....

We went to Trentham Gardens, had some lunch and a wander around the lake and gardens.

The light was quite hazy this afternoon, so this view looks a bit misty. This area has been cleared of many trees to make it more like it would have been when Capability Brown designed it.

It's the tercentenary of his birth this year, so there's a lot of work going on around the gardens in celebration.
