Sun of Summer

Oh Sun of Summer
When will we see your like again
That warmed and dried out
Our wet sheets, shoes and when
We burned our faces
Our heads and arms
Then headed homeward
In pain again

The beaches are bare now
Soon Autumn turns to Winter's chill
O'er land that is lost now
Which heat once warmly held
And still we wait here
In Summer's chill
Tae shiver at fireside
And dream again

Summer's warm are passed now
And in the past they will remain
But the sun can still rise up
And bring the warmth again
And we can smile then
Pale Englands army
Who shiver at fireside
And dream again

Been a nice sunny day in the main today up here and these words popped partialy into my head after reading a comment from a friend about their day and how iffy their weather had been.
