Day 077/16. Blue Fly.

I found this fellow today basking in the sun on our grandsons slide in the garden. We get a reasonable number of these large flies. Almost a cross between a bee and a fly. Not as fast as a fly, not as slow as a bee.
There were a couple of early butterflies around, but I had no chance to catch them, way too flighty at this time of year. I enjoy photographing insects, it's probably the nearest I have to a favourite photographic subject. Patience is definately a virtue though....
