'New Song In The Making'

Another incredible day spent in the studio today with Ben, Nicky & Robin.

Got to bed around 1am this morning. Nicky was very kind and gave me one of his bedrooms to sleep in rather than pitching my tent for the night. As I jumped into bed Ben & Nicky were jamming in the studio, next door to my bedroom. What a way to get to sleep, just awesome.

It's been so incredible and inspiring to be invited up here to witness the birth of a new Ben Kelly song today. Ben only had an idea for this song a couple of weeks ago and today it's been masterfully honed and turned into a fully fledged song. At the start of the day, Ben said he had no idea what the song would sound like by the time it was done and was happy to just let the process unfold naturally in the studio.

Nicky is a true master at his craft and extremely professional, creative and driven. With the combination of Ben's songwriting, Nicky's production and playing and Robin's engineering, suddenly an idea has been given a life of it's own.

I'm incredibly honoured and privileged to be invited by Ben, openly accepted into Nicky's studio / home and able to see these guys do their thing.

Nicky had just completed an arrangement for a new song and here, Ben is writing the lyrics to the versus out on the front porch.

Thanks Ben, Nicky and Robin. It's been a blast.
Can't wait to hear the new album when it's in the can.
