Purple finches

Male and female. I think I have got this right and that they are not house finches. We have had so many finches at the feeders today. The goldfinches are just beginning to turn yellow. When they do, you would think they were escaped canaries.

It was 22°F this morning. It is still cool and the wind is cold. One day it will settle into hot weather and we shall be looking forward to the cold again!
