Karlimoot, The Scarlet Robin

The Indigenous Noongar people of South West Australia say that in the Dreaming Chitty-Chitty the wagtail and Karlimoot the scarlet robin were fighting over hunting rights.
Chitty-Chitty was always getting into fights and fearlessly attacked Karlimoot, hitting the robin in the face and making his beak bleed, forever staining his chest red.
As a result, the wagtail still chases robins from its territory and monopolises the better hunting grounds.
Today’s robins have to contend with human land clearing as well, which has seen their numbers and range decline in WA and South Australia particularly.

This was the first sighting for me today of the Scarlet Robin, there was a female flitting between the branches too, i managed to get a sketchy shot of her (one of my extras) these birds were so "flitty" they are not the best shots but it was exciting for me to spot the pair.
Ive posted an extra of both the female Robin and the "chitty-chitty, the Willy Wagtail, true to the story of the Aboriginal people there were a number of Willy Wagtails flying around the same area.
