The Slaves Lament

Went especially to listen to The Slaves Lament (a poem of Robert Burns) composition being performed at Hospitalfield House. Met Penny who was doing a Dying cloth using Natural Flowers course in the House. Sounds interesting - I'm looking forward to seeing her finished work. My blip shows how composer Sally Beamish has interpreted Burns words, and music producer Adrian Sherwood, have turned it into an audio for a five-channel video.  The singer is reggae singer Ghetto Priest. I was sitting on a red couch listening to the music and watching the videos change to match the timbre of the music and voice at any given moment. Difficult to describe, but certainly a different way to listen to sound. The videos and speakers were placed in the Cedar Room  -  you can see some of the ancestors of the previous owners looking down on them. Not with approval maybe!  It is a grand House  -  my extra is of the stairs leading up to the Library at the top of the house. Where the lords could escape from the ladies, I expect. Hope you are all having a nice Sunday:)
