The Road Less Travelled...

...while the rest of the Yorkshire folk took the more conventional path out towards Bolton Abbey and beyond, this was my favoured route for today.

The footpath up and out of the centre of Addingham, past Chelker Reservoir and down to the Abbey (take your pick, there's various routes) is always deserted, not to mention quick, picturesque and safe. In my opinion it's a winner compared to the Dales Way where 'keeping your fingers crossed and hoping for the best' is sound advice when it crosses the busy road and takes you through steep, rutted cow fields.

Anyway, today it felt like the hills and fields were all my very own, so don't tell anyone! Thanks!
