Planting up

A fine dry day heralded the Spring Equinox, and the Seedy Sunday event at Aden Park and Aden Allotments. The main event at the allotments was the planting of twelve heritage fruit trees, to form an orchard for the community. In the park a celebration of food took place, with some forty different activities, showcasing the best of Aberdeenshire's meat, preserves, crafts, and musical and cooking talents. All interspersed with face painting, bouncy castles and other fun things for families. The busiest stall was the seed swap, where gardeners and allotment holders could share their surplus seeds from last year for free.
