With mountains like these

By Sollergirl

Way up high

1300m above the coast, after the slowest coffee ever in a sweet cafe in Tabulam, Aborigine country, we drove inland into the rainforest where the Bellbirds sing. We were shown the road to take after we crossed the longest single span wooden bridge in the Southern Hemisphere (apparently); through the gravel and dust; we spotted a red fronted black snake, pretending to be dead on the road. It wasn't.

Finally up on the high ground, the North Tablelands, it is cool enough for sheep rather than cattle (a funny cross with Asian White Cattle and Herefords) and we have entered a group of towns, namesakes of places leaping from Glencoe to Gwydyr to Stonehenge.

Here in Armidale, we are holed up in a motel with wifi for once. The boys are mysteriously quiet.
