maybe on a once upon a time that gap in the wall led into enchanted spaces, offered a gateway to paths less trodden in that lost region of the summer stars...now, perhaps, it's set to keep the city out as the pavements degrade and the roads become something akin to an obstacle course... achtstein thinks that it;s very kind of the council to have created so many swimming pools for ravens but wonders why they've put most of them in the roads...
