Bakewell

I think the French are to blame for it? Padlocks on bridges?

You can even get your names engraved on them? You lock them on a bridge as a token of your tryst. When several hundred others have done the same, the bridge, unable to bear the weight of all the brass and steel, falls into the river.

The locks of love.

Bakewell is a lovely town, home to tarts and puddings.

Just for the record, there is a pub, The Red Lion, where the beer is lovely and the sandwiches are scrummy. Hot pork and gravy. The staff are lovely and the locals friendly. Hiya Tony! I hope you keep well. The pub isn't in the 'Book'. So a hungry/thirsty traveller may not find it.
