Palm Sunday action in support of refugees

About 150 people took part in this action in Norwich organised by Sanctuary Norfolk, the Mother's Union and other faith groups.  Participants included people from several faiths, and - like me - of none.  We set off from the Catholic Cathedral and walked to the city centre for speeches and prayers outside St Peter Mancroft and then on to St Stephen's for a brief service.

Some represented - or identified with - groups such as Citizens UK, the PCS Union, We Are Norwich, Refugees Welcome Here (Norwich) but the majority were there simply because they are appalled that Norfolk County Council is dragging it's heels on taking a decision on whether the region can accept 50 (yes, five - zero) refugees from Syria. The first approach to the council was back in 2014 on St Nicholas' Day.

The people who sit on this council actually pray at the start of their meetings.  I don't know how they manage to sleep at nights.

Here we see Isabel and one of her friends.
