Day 81 of 366 - Cash's Houses!

Today's image was taken along Coventry Canal not far away from the Canal Basin, near to the bridge at Cash's Lane. It is an image of the Grade II listed Cash's Hundred Houses. These Town Houses were originally built during the mid 19th Century by John and Joseph Cash. The plan was to build 100 of these Townhouses with living quarters for Weavers on the first two floors and a separate workshop for them to weave on the top floor. The workshops would all be steam powered. Each of the Weavers would pay rent to live in the bottom of the house and also pay for the steam power for the Looms in their workshops. However in the end only about Half (48 Houses) of the planned 100 houses were ever built. Some of the buildings have been lost over the years, most of these during the Second World War. After the company JJ Cash moved to new premises in the 1980's, a Housing Association took over the complex and converted the remaining buildings into flats and houses. The building as a group is now Grade II listed.

The photo was taken using the App ExposerGL on my iPhone 6.

First I used the app Snapseed to edit the picture. I cropped and straightened the image, then I changed the perspective to help bring more of the building and reflection into view. I also applied the Tonal Contrast filter and boosted the structure and applied sharpening. Next I used the app DistressedFX to apply the Stirred overlay and the Brocken Texture. I flattened the image, then applied the Stirred overlay again plus the Lade texture. Finally I used the app AltPhoto to add the Creamy Highlights Colour Film preset and Frame.
