Tiny Tuesday - Not the Best of Partners

I’ve managed to capture a few shots of this little predator, evidently they only live for a year, laying their eggs in autumn and then die.
 
Mantises were considered to have supernatural powers....ooooooh!  and the female is known as a femme fatale, maybe that's because their mating habits aren’t pleasant, well the female can have cannibalistic tendencies. 
 
This critter was caught dancing over the edge of our pool, no idea why, maybe there was food just out of reach or he was enamoured by its reflection!
