to Re-invent the Wheel (2)

On Sunday I achieved the inevitable result by accidentally breaking the glass beaker out of our one and only cafetiere.  

Whilst I was ordering a new unbreakable variety I began to wonder.

Having a dim recollection that we might have had an old coffee percolator I went on the search.  I found it at last in the garage roof space along with camp cooking gear.

So here she is brought back to life and do you know she produces a wonderful result.

Mind you the last time she was used was forty five years ago at Glenelg on the Scottish coast during my undergraduate geology days.  

I used to have a brew up on a primus stove....
