Plastic

This morning Ollie and I went for an explore along the beach at Sandwick Bay, the South Ronaldsay one, not the Skara Brae one.  I wanted to see how the old boats had survived the winter, we've not been down there for a while.  Sad to see them slowly collapsing and falling apart . . . see extras.

We had a lovely walk, not too chilly or windy, lots of birds, mostly gulls and oyster catchers, super waves for Ollie to splash in and along side the burn the bright yellow flowers of marsh marigolds.

What was not so pleasant was the sight of all the debris on the tide line, washed up by the winter gales, all the rubbish, the rope, the bits of net, the nylon and so much plastic.  Heartbreaking to see so much on one beach . . .
