Blue tit nest

This is from one of the nest boxes in our garden. The blue tits spent ages making a nest using bits from around the garden. It seemed like they started laying with Mrs Blue tit being in the box quite a bit, but then they went. I am not sure what happened to them but I cleared out the nest and this is what I found.

I do not think they had any chicks hatch as the inside of the box was clean and I think they would have removed the egg if others had hatched. Maybe they will have better luck next year.
