Eisteddfod!

Today was out annual Eisteddfod, an inter-house competition celebrating all things creative and Welsh. Our Yr 7 pupils did Science proud by singing The Element Song and there were a lot of brave pupils that sang, presented and played instruments in front of the whole school and staff.

However, the highlight of the day for me was our Flash mob! A couple of months ago, the teacher who organises the Eisteddfod told us that she planned for staff to perform a flash mob, a seemingly impromptu dance by a large group of people in a public place (just like that T-Mobile advert a couple of years ago). After weeks of practice we surprised the students by breaking into a bout of Saturday Night Fever just before the end of the day and I am pleased to say that it was huge fun! The kids cheered and clapped and seemed to really enjoy us making a fool of ourselves.
