Day 083 Hall of Remembrance, Kiev

Although I was overwhelmed by the monstrously huge Motherland Statue it was a poignant and deeply moving experience to wander through this hall displaying photos, below the Motherland Statue in Kiev, of people who died during the Great Patriotic War, known elsewhere as World War 11.

More shocking still was the room dedicated to those who lost their lives in the current conflict, showing artefacts and photos. It brought home the brutality of war and the courage shown by ordinary people under dreadful conditions.
