this embroidery...

...was so beautifully done by my Auntie Laurie. Sadly she died many years ago, but I have lots of her work. This piece is part of a dressing table set. I can do embroidery and I know all the stitches (taught by her and my grandma) but mine's nowhere near as fine as this. She was a lovely person and didn't have any children of her own, so she made a big fuss of me, and later on of my three children.
