Triffid?

This Gunnera self seeded in next door's garden a couple of years ago.  Last year it was just a baby and a reasonable size, fairly attractive and and a fascinating plant.  This was what it looked like in October.

This year it is already looking as if it is planning to take over the whole garden.  You can almost watch and hear it growing!
