Scorching

People from Arizona, Texas and rest of the southern states must think we are the biggest heat wimps under the sun. That's alright. They are snow wimps. I would give anything for a break in the heat; for the people I know without a/c, the farmers whose crops are scorched, the creatures who have to spend their days in it.

We walked the two big dogs twice today despite the heat. If you get out early in the morning, it's almost tolerable if you just prepare yourself for the onslaught of flying, biting insects. I have stopped watering the lawn and the few annuals. The only things getting a drink now are the small shrubs and trees that would cost too much money to replace should they perish.
