Alfred the Gorilla

He used to live in Bristol zoo. My father can remember seeing him.

After Alfred died in 1948 his body was presented to Bristol Museum where you can still see him. I am not a fan of stuffed animals myself, but he was widely loved by the people who visited the zoo and people were very upset when he died at a fairly young age. It seems he had a bit of an adventure after his death. I can't seem to find a page of info for him, I think the zoo and the museum could do a bit better!
