Procession of the Penitents - Semana Santa

Practically every town and village in Spain has processions over Easter time.  Good Friday is for the penitents who process along with the saints and icons being carried.  The robes, capriote and veil vary in colour depending in the fraternity.
The capriote is a pointed hat that used to be worn by criminals in order to shame them.  Historically the penitents wore these as a mark of their shame of their sins, but then also wore the veil to hide this shame from their neighbours.
