Brimstone day

Brimstones finally caught up with calendar spring at the nature reserve today. I saw eight separate individuals in different sections of my walk. You might think this was unremarkable when there have been reports of Brimstones elsewhere for a while, but we are 600-850 feet above sea level and it's still quite cold, despite the welcome sunny period today. Later I saw a Brimstone and a Small Tortoiseshell in my garden.
