Solar Magnificat.

An uncommon and brilliant upper tangent arc crowns a bright halo, however such a magnificent sight is often a harbinger of bad weather to come.

As I took this photo I pointed this atmospheric phenomenon to a colleague who was leaving work for the day and she thought it was really beautiful - she had never noticed such a bright ring around the Sun before.
