La vida de Annie

By Annie

M is for...

... McHugh, as in Tommy McHugh, subject of many interviews and TV documentaries after a brain haemorrhage changed his life completely, unleashing his creative ability to a phenomenal degree. He now paints compulsively, haunting images which illustrate what it feels like to be inside his head. He also writes poems and carves sculptures, and despite recent treatment for cancer is still embracing life to the full. I was honoured to meet Tommy tonight at the Liverpool Academy of Arts, where Neurosupport are holding a charity art exhibition of work donated by users of the facility with neurological conditions. I entered seven large framed prints and canvases, two of which sold at the private view tonight - yay! I was delighted when Tommy, pictured with one of my prints, really got what I was trying to show. If you're in the area, the exhibition is on each day except Sunday, from 12-4pm until the 26th. Thanks are due to Mobilevirgin who dropped in tonight.
