Early grey moth

The weather today has been vile by any standards, made even worse by the stunning spring weather we had yesterday. I feel so depressed when the weather is like this, I really wish I could hibernate all winter or at the very least migrate to somewhere warm and sunny from November till April! I guess on the plus side at least the clocks go forward overnight!
Today's offering is from my moth trap last night, and is a common early moth in these parts. The Early Grey  Xylocampa areola, whose name is really descriptive, as it is both early (flying March - May) and grey.
I had to use my flash to take this shot as the light was dreadful,so the light is a bit harsh and flat, but I did diffuse it well with 3 layers of kitchen roll!!
