Went here this afternoon. It's mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1068. It's a lovely house and estate. The weather's been so changeable today that it was bright when we entered the car park and as we parked and I opened the car door a hailstorm started, with thunder and lighting. We had to sit it out and then the sun came out again. Today's interesting fact - the 'Butler' in the kitchen told us that the gold rim on a teacup is so that it would glint in the dim gaslight and elegant ladies wouldn't slop tea down their fronts.
