The Homecoming

This is the name of the main Cambridge War Memorial which is about to be moved a little as part of the redevelopment of the Station Rd/Botanic gardens area of Cambridge.

Whilst it feels a little wrong that it is moving (I suspect this is not the first time in 90 years it has been shifted) it is retaining it's orientation, so that the Soldier will remain looking back towards the Station where his fallen comrades will never disembark..

It is currently in the middle of a very busy road, the new location will mean it will be accessible, making life a lot easier for the British Legion and others that want to pay their respects. So probably the best outcome.
