Dryburgh Abbey

Today we took the bus to the Borders to visit Dryburgh Abbey. It was only a short walk from Newton St Boswells to the abbey. The weather was fantastic and we all enjoyed the historic place. We then walked along the Tweed to Tweedbank to catch the (not so) new train back to Edinburgh. As a bonus we passed the Leaderfoot Viaduct and Melrose Abbey (see extras). We also unexpectedly came past the Trimontium Roman Fortress which is located near the viaduct. All in all 16.5km walk, a fantastic day out. As always, the complete set on flickr.
