Busy in Beverungen on Weser

Awakening before the alarm rings. Even before the churchbell. That can happen when you have an appointment. Today it was in behalf of a car inspection and changing the winter tyres. Just be ready to drive off in time.

Living as an immigrated pensioner here implies few appointments. Seemingly without obligations you might enjoy full freedom. At last? But real freedom without some discipline and structure is an impossibility. Absolute freedom implies dedication and obligation in selfless service to Being. Full Awakening has a deeper and practical everyday meaning.

City strollers we were as youngsters. As students and later on during weekends, holidays and travelling all over Europe to search and buy antiquarian books. After we came to Carlsheaven we did visit Göttingen not far from here. Or cities in the Ruhrgebiet travelling by train between the Dutch coast and the Weser Mountainland. We would still enjoy that. But the city-hectic is fatiguing. After a couple of hours we long to return to the silence of the country.

What will we do during the hours while the car is handled in the garage? Well, let us stroll around in town. See some nice old Fachwerk houses, visit the brique-a-braque and used furniture warehouse. Search for vegan products in the local supermarkets. Walk along the riverside while the sky stays humid and gray.

Thats it for this morning. It was amusing. We had an espresso. We strolled around. We visited the old church and we have new ideas for a variety of walking tours for the time to come. Quite unusual such a morning in Beverungen on the Weser.
