Crazy About Birds

Quince

We took our usual walk this morning - a lovely morning for a walk - and I was very pleased to see what I'm absolutely sure was a Common Raven (not so commonly seen - usually more in the mountains than down here, but then again, the mountains are nearby). It was croaking its obvious Raven call as it flew over, and being harassed by a smaller black bird - probably a Common Grackle (Grackles are, in fact, quite common hereabouts). And a photo - albeit not good enough for blipping - confirms that it had the proper wedge shaped tail. There were also a lot of Eastern Bluebirds and American Robins and Chipping Sparrows and etc. etc. etc.

But instead of a bird, my Blip is a sprig of the Quince that is blooming riotously in our garden. The pink/violet color behind it is from the Redbud tree up on the hill. The air is lovely and soft, and everything bursting into bloom.

Oh! By the way, sad news about the Tundra Swan at The Wildlife Center. He had to be euthanized.
