Lodore falls

LARGE on black please!

Last day of our Easter special today, so we started at the edge of Derwentwater, moved on to Lodore falls, and ended the day in Manesty woods. Some of you might remember my last shot of Lodore falls, showing the changes since the floods. Well the water levels have receded a bit, but this has only served to emphasise how many new boulders have been deposited to totally change the appearance of the Lodore falls. We carefully picked our way over many of the new (and less slippery) rocks to find some great new patterns in the falls. I really liked this composition, and chose a long exposure to contrast the movement of the water with the immovable rocks.

Our late afternoon trip to Manesty offered the joys of blue sky and sunshine, which, after dodging showers all week, was a welcome end to the workshop.
