I figured out how to get onto the roof!

Big day on the beach today, judging of the Sandsculpting Contest, sideshows, ice creams, fried dough, hot dogs, carousels, bouncy castles and fireworks!

Actually, something strange happened to the fireworks - kind of San Diego's Fourth of July show in reverse. Everything started off OK (albeit 15 minutes late), but things seemed a little slow. Then everything fizzled out towards the end - we never did get to see the Grand Finale. There was a lot of twoing and froing in boats around the raft that they were launching from, and eventually one or two more rockets went up. But we ended with a whimper, not with a bang.
