The Hebrides where North meets South and East West

This is a Gyr Falcon - I've used this particular bird before Christmas but it is still about and still powerfully impressive, even if it seems to be reduced to eating goose and swan carcasses.
It came for the North, probably Greenland, but just under half a kilometre away was another impressive white bird, a Great White Egret, denizen of the South and the Mediterranean. There is a photo of it in the extra photos. North meets south.
Last week our Airbnb guest came from China - along with a Frenchman and a Bosnian this week - and we had to turn one down next week, when we are not here, from Los Angeles. East meets west.
It is fascinating to meet this cosmopolitan range of people and to see such a good variety of birds. Clearly whatever the maps might say, actually the Hebrides are at the centre of things!
