Endless Weekend

Little white bells of spring

It's cold today, after having many days of warm and sunny weather.  We hear it will be warm by Thursday, but the buds and beauty of spring are still out there in all of their glory.  Here is my Pieris japonica Scarlet O'hara, happily in bloom. I had my trees trimmed in the fall, and I think this plant is very happy to have more light than usual.  It's quite showy for the first time.

“It was spring, the part of spring where the bursting is done, the held-in pressures of desiccated sap-veins and gum-sealed buds are gone, and all the world’s in a rush to be beautiful.” ― Theodore Sturgeon
