Family photo 1922 with Tank

found this in a pile of old family photographs . looks like some of the colours were couloured in Tanks were used to raise money for the first world war effort . One came to Halifax in 1917 Halifax alone raised over a million pounds.(250 million across the country). Halifax and the surronding area must of had some rich mill owners.
After the war many towns and cities around Britain, including Halifax, were to have their own display tank proudly mounted for all to see. Tank no.208 was donated to Halifax and displayed at Rock Hollow Park, Ogden. Sadly, virtually all of them disappeared under the scrap merchant’s hammer, particularly with the advent of the Second World War.
