Capturing my Journey

Sunshine and rainbow

What a day.... husband and i fed here then went to the farm where we manage the livestock to gather in the lambing ewes and put them into the fields they will lamb in. We got them all into the fank (handling system) then we were going to feed the cows then sort through the ewes as there were some wedders (castrated males) to draw off. As we came into the yard the shop assistant called us over there was a man from the department of agriculture we have randomly been selected for a cattle inspection. Oh joy. I told him he'd have to wait until the livestock was fed and was given a cuppa coffee while he waited. Then he took husband home to our farm to check out all the paperwork. All pretty much fine and they are coming next week to check all the tags on the cattle. Its going to be so hard on the poor calving cows handling them like that. Such a shame for them. I stayed behind to recieve the new hebridean tup that was arriving also at that farm and then went up to sort the sheep and put them to their fields. Dogs worked brilliantly and the sheep behaved.

Then off to get fuel as we had the light on. Then home and lambing rounds then breakfast at 2pm and a nap!!! Out again to lambing field and a new lamb from a first time lamber and the lambs front legs are splayed so it cant stand. Have no idea whats going on there fed it and put it under heat and maybe if it gets stronger it might manage but time will tell.

Feeling pretty low today with being tired and so much going on. Your kindness on my 500th blip yesterday was a great boost.
